I like to do mini sculptures to get my creative juices flowing. Most of the mini sculptures I do are for the purpose of meshing out design or character ideas. I love sculpture for the design aspect, as well as texture and volume. I do take commissions for custom portrait sculptures or any other projects involving figurative sculpture of any size! I have many sculptures that are unfinished or still in the design stage. If you see anything that you are interested in taking a look at please contact me directly.
I love the human form and the beauty it creates, which I see in all body types. My technique is fluid and changes depending on the materials I choose to use. Thus, I tend to let the material decide what it wants to look like rather than forcing it to look a certain way. Sometimes I use a model; other times I just start with a certain mental shape or image and let it develop by itself. I'm currently focusing on one-of-a-kind fired ceramic pieces. I also take sculpture commissions.
When it come to sculpture, it is easy to be inspired. The human form in any position tells a story and conveys a feeling. I'm often inspired by hair styles and fashion. I want my viewer to feel as I do when looking at my work: excited! When sculpting, I am feel a rhythm that connects everything together like poetry. I don't believe in having a rhyme or reason for every piece, but I do think every piece has a purpose and a place. Feel free to view my sculptures and if you find a favorite, make it yours by visiting the shop page!
